This ancient technique has been adapted from various massages which originated in the different regions of Thailand. The masseuse uses different parts of his/her body i.e. elbows, knees, feet etc. It is good for people who are very tense and like a firm pressure but it is also very relaxing.
The Royal Thai style was adapted from the Local Thai style to suit the Thai upper classes. It is seen as a more polite massage. The masseuse uses only his/her hands to target the pressure points around the body.
This style originated centuries ago when after meditating for long periods the monks bodies would ache and become stiff. The style was developed in the Thai temples and the masseuse pulls and stretches the joints and muscles trying to bring them back to their natural alignment. The Thai temple of ‘Wat Po’ has records of this ancient technique etched into stones. In fact, the temple is still teaching and practicing these same techniques today.
This style of massage has its roots in traditional Thai medicine. Doctors would put therapeutic herbs into a compress which would be heated and placed on the body. The healing properties of the herbs seep into the skin and the warmth soothes and relaxes the nerves and muscles. We have continued this ancient tradition in our Thai massage.
This massage is a combination of Thai pressure point work, sports massage techniques, Swedish techniques and gentle stretches. It is a firm massage and very popular as it will leave you feeling totally relaxed.
This well known massage is gentler than our Thai oil massage. The style originated in Sweden and the masseuse uses oil to help his/her hands work their way over the whole body easing tension and providing deep relaxation.
Stones are warmed and placed on particular pressure points around the body. The heat from the stones penetrates deep into the muscles relieving tension. The masseuse massages the body helping it to relax even more.
We are leading increasingly stressful lives and much of this tension is held in the shoulders. It can lead to problems such as headaches, irritability and sleeplessness. Our head and shoulder massage will help to release this tension and provide deep relaxation for our clients.
This massage originated in Egypt, was further developed in China and then travelled to Thailand. The masseuse relaxes the whole foot then targets particular points on the foot which will ease tension and blockages from around the body. The masseuse will help to release more tension by massaging the leg muscles.
This massage has been developed through the ancient traditional practices of Thai medicine. Pressure points which run along energy channels called Sen Lines are stimulated using a massage implement. This will release energy 'blockages' throughout the body. The masseuse will also massage the lower leg.
